In summer 2015 Schattdecor AG — one of the largest producers of decorative paper in the world — introduced a melamine film factory in Tyumen. The factory, aimed at clients from Siberia and Far Eastern regions of Russia,Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, became the third production asset of the German group in the Russian Federation. The founder of Schattdecor AG, Walter Shatt, came to the official opening ceremony of the Tyumen factory, which is evident of how important the Russian market is for the holding management, and how interested it is in developing business in Russia.

A year later, in July 2016, the second Vits melamine channel was launched in the Tyumen branch of LLC Schattdecor, brought from the old site in Velizhansky tract. Thus, the factory has reached project power of 35,500 thousand sq. m. of melamine film a year. Together with production lines, working in Shatura, Schattdecor’s assets in Russia include 5 melamine channels, corresponding to approximately 100 million sq. m of films a year.

Director of Sales Department of decorative paper Alexander Panyukhin marks the imprtance of melamine segment for Schattdecor in Russia. According to him, the second channel in Tyumen is not only additional capacity for the producer of decorative materials and its clietnts, but also great flexibility in order processing, a kind of safety bag for both parties.

Director General of LLC Schattdecor Iens Palmen emphasized that all set-up and starting-up and adjustment works were executed by the company’s own employees without particpation of technical specialists from external organizations. At present both Tyumen channels are fully loaded with orders.

Initially specialising exclusively on print, Schattdecor became a complex producer of decorative covers a long time ago. In 2015, the share of melamine and finish films in the company’s product line accounted for one fourth, which corresponds to 500 million sq. m.

In Russia Schattdecor AG has been working since the end of 90’s. The company started with representative office in Moscow, with manufacturing facilities in Shatura, Chekhov (Moscow region), Penza and Tyumen following in the next 15 years.

“In all Russian regions we have good relations with regional governments and business partners, — Vladimir Denisov, head of sales of LLC Schattdecor says. — In Russia, just like everywhere in the world, we work with maximum efficiency, strictly following the law and unwritten rules of behavior on the market: officially declared salary, respect to employees, fair relations with suppliers and clients, as well as with governments. The result of this policy was the prize of Walter Wolf von Amerongen, which Schattdecor got in 2009 as the best German enterprise in Russia. Our experience of work in Russia is very positive, and we tell about it in Europe, which is very important in the current political situation”.
