For many years, Siempelkamp has been closely following and responding to the development of the Russian market. Only from 2005 to 2015 20 new Siempelkamp facilities for the production of wood materials were launched in Russia and Belarus. A whole series of facilities is in the process of installation or design. All these installations produce a total of more than 5 million cubic meters of wood materials, which corresponds to a market share of more than 60%.

Today, at its site in Pavlovsk not far from Barnaul, a Russian timber group Pavlovskiy DOK is constructing the first stage of a new plate factory. An order to make the main MDF manufacturing unit was given to Siempelkamp. As the press service of the German company reports, the unit will be saturated with innovative solutions, the molding and pressing line is equipped with the ContiRoll® press of 8th generation. The general design of the unit, including the wood preparation site, is being made by Sicoplan, a Belgian subsidiary of Siempelkamp. The characteristics of the equipment allow us to say that the enterprise will be able to compete with the leaders of the sector by the level of technical equipment. The installation is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2017, and the first board should be made in the summer of 2018.

Employees of the Russian representative office of Siempelkamp note that with the advent of a new plant in the Altai, the distribution of board production capacities in Russia will become more balanced. At the moment up to 80% of woodworking industries are concentrated in the European part of the country. Meanwhile, the main stocks of raw materials are in the Siberian region. Pavlovskiy DOC intends to realize local raw material potential.
