Kedr group of industrial companies launched a line producing thick and light tabletops. Today Profstandard tabletops are sold all over Russia, and are also exported to Belarus, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.

“The appearance of ProfStandard light tabletops, produced in the new patented technology, — is our response to the market’s demand,” — Kedr group of industrial companies General Director Alexander Shevchenko says. “In Europe thick tabletops have been in high demand for a very long time, whereas in Russia demand for trending components is not great. There are two main reasons for this: the use of honeycomb wood tabletops is connected with a whole range of technological difficulties, secondly, solid tabletops 40 mm and wider are almost unliftable, which leads to difficulties in processing, transportation and mounting. Our specialists faced a task — to develop thicker tabletops, which would be light, comfortable and cost less than solid items. At the same time in terms of quality and physical-mechanical characteristics new tabletops should not be inferior to standard products. Leading engineers and constructors of our company worked on this project and the goal was achieved. Thus, 40 mm tabletop ProfStandard weighs 33.5 kg, 56 mm — 38 kg, which is about 10 kg less than solid analogues would normally weigh. The price of 40 mm ProfStandard tabletop equals that of a 28 mm, while our 56 mm tabletop costs as much as a standard 40 mm. Although new company products are aimed at furniture producers of economy class and medium price segment, it has a whole range of characteristics of the premium category, including water resistance. And finally, it’s very important that our new tabletops are easy to manufacture, that is why we produce them in industrial scale.”
Innovative tabletops ProfStandard are manufactured on a modern Homag and Burkle throughfeed lines. Their capacity — up 600 thousand items a year. All operations — from blanks supply to labeling on finishes pieces are done automatically. This allows to execute orders of any difficulty in the shortest amount of time, ensuring consistent high quality of products. Water-resistant 19 mm chipboards of high density are used as raw materials for ProfStandard tabletops. Decorative paper-based laminate CPL and HPL plastics ranging from 0.5 to 0.8 mm in thickness are used as finishing materials. The warehouse program includes 135 decors.
ProfStandard tabletops are included in programs of all Kedr’s trade partners, who account for more than 100 at the moment. Furniture companies are also paying interest to popularization of the new product.
Recently Kedr factory has received international certificate of quality in the sphere of design, research and production: tabletops, ProfStandard tabletops, splashbacks, edge bands, angle units of tabletops, angle units of ProfStandard tabletops. The company considers this as a first step to conquering the European market.
In summer 2016, international certificates, proving that Kedr’s quality management and ecological management systems are meeting ISO standards, were awarded in the official ceremony.
