A furniture cluster may appear in the Apsheronsky district of the Krasnodar Krai. The initiators of the project are the woodworking complex “Apsheronsk” and the “Industrial Union of Kuban”, which owns 90.9% of the authorized capital of JSC “PDK “Apsheronsk”. It is planned to place enterprises producing furniture, furniture facades, windows and doors, wood trim and other core businesses at the industrial site of PDK “Apsheronsk” – a major supplier of MDF. Investments in the creation of an industrial park amount to about 2 billion rubles. Gennady Zamotaev, Director General of “Apsheronsk”, noted that the concept of the future cluster is currently being developed. Then it will be sent to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation for consideration and in order to assign the park an appropriate status. Mr. Zamotaev doesn't rule out the possibility of obtaining privileges and preferences within the framework of the applicable legislation for the implementation of the investment project.

Earlier in the regional press, it was reported that PDK “Apsheronsk” already has 25 thousand sq. m of vacant space, while for the realization of its own projects, the company needs only 12-15 thousand sq. m. The rest of the area will be ready by 2018 for leasing to enterprises of related fields of activity. In addition, within the framework of the furniture cluster, PDK “Apsheronsk” intends to launch the Design and Prototyping Centre that will provide commercial services to small local furniture companies and individual entrepreneurs.
