“This is the biggest investment package on the Russian leather market,” — Igor Surin, Chairman of Board of Directors of Russkaya Kozha group of companies, says. “We are investing in modernization of our leading factory, as well as development of our new factory in the Altai region. Our goal is to reach the highest product quality, which will allow us to strengthen our position not only on the internal, but also on external markets.”

LINEAPELLE 2016 is the most established international exposition of leather producers. This year around 1,100 companies from 40 countries from around the world displayed their products. Russkaya Kozha brand was presented on the Russian stand, organized with participation of The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Russian Union of Leather and Shoes Producers.

Meanwhile, Russkaya Kozha was successfully audited by the international leather producers community Leather Working Group. LWG’s aim is to evaluate effectiveness of leather producers and their compliance with international ecological norms and standards. As a result of the audit, the Russian company, which is the leader on the Russian leather market, entered LWG community and got a silver medal and a certificate.

In 2016, the Russkaya Kozha had a huge celebration of their triple anniversary: the 100th anniversary of factory’s founding, the 30th anniversary of the ultramodern factory complex that was put into service in 1986 and the 20th anniversary of JSC Russkaya Kozha, the biggest European company of its type.

Today Russkaya Kozha accounts for 35% of genuine leather production in Russia; moreover, 48% of commodity output is being exported to European and Asian countries. As to furniture leather, Ryazan factory has been realizing the import substitution and, according to the company’s interior estimates, it accounts for the lion’s share of the Russian leather industry.
