Sticking with the line

Funder-Uva Director Andrey Malyugin is convinced that the crisis is not a reason to give up ambitiousbusiness development plans.

In 2016 Funder-Uva has launched the fifth melamine line. It’s obvious that the decision about the increase of production was taken in connection with the construction of a new chipboard factory by Uvadrev Holding.

Uvadrev Holding — the principal parter and founder, also plays host to the enterprise, — consumes around half of the production of Funder-Uva. Before the micro-economic crisis, the four impregnating lines were 90% busy, but after the launch of new chipboard production Uvadrev Holding it increased up to 96%. According to estimate, with the introduction of the fifth melamine line Funder-Uva will be selling on the open market not 70, but 108 million sq. m of film.

“We are expecting increase of demand not only by Uvadrev Holding, but also by other partners,” — Funder-Uva Director Andrey Malyugin says. “Yugra-plit, IKEA Industry, are also increasing volumes of laminated chipboards production, a while ago Kronospan has launched a big factory in Ufa. Both in this country and in neighbouring states, board production has been groing rapidly, so demand for high-quality films — (and that’s what we are producing) — is increasing too. Today, all Russian laminated chip board producers, who do not have their own melamine, as well as producers of laminated chipboard in Kazakhstan are Funder-Uva’s clients. In the future we are also going to enter Uzbekistan and Tadjikistan markets.”

Funder-Uva is an independent melamine producer, and this is an important competitive advantage. The company offers film production on the basis of decorative films by not only its mother company — impress decor, but also by any producers. In the competitive situation, when many board and furniture companies tend to have their exclusive collections, this is very important.

“Today our range includes decorative paper from all printing factories in Russia, as well as factories from certain EU countries. The list is getting bigger all the time: in 2015, for instance, we started working with Confalonieri, Mayak-Technocell, Malta Decor.
